Can work overload be a productivity killer?
According to Collaborative research of CornerstoneOnDemand & Kelton Global 68% of American Full-time employees might be feeling overloaded by their work. Here are some additional findings:

52% of American workers report their work overload has increased in the past 15 months.
37% of respondents list the top work environment they feel fosters the most productivity to be an enclosed office; followed by partitioned cubicles (23%) and open-desk layouts (19%).
40% report feeling overwhelmed by information
27% reported feeling overwhelmed by technology
61% workers believe that work overload is most harmful to their productivity.
26% of those surveyed said they feel like they can’t turn off their job outside of work hours/on vacation
65% of workers think a flexible and remote work schedule would increase their productivity
19% are currently allowed to work remotely by their employers.
43% of employees say impromptu visits by co-workers are the biggest productivity killer.

Research conducted by Fuel 50, a career development software company, yielded a very curious correlation among talent and business revenue. Companies who reported success in attracting key talent & developing internal talent by way of development had greater overall annual revenue.

75% said career development is a key driver of engagement in the organization.
87% of organizations preferred to recruit internally where possible
49% of respondents offer coaching for all employees
58% of companies hold career conversations with all team members.
50% of respondents feel they have the necessary time to support the career growth of their reports.
Organizations with improved HR processes increased revenue growth by up to 2.5%.
